Along with the rapid development of automobile industry, the growing demands also come from the tire mold processing enterprises. According the actual needs of the enterprise, aimed the goal of practical application in relative enterprises, the technologies of CAM for the non-linear text processing of tire mold have been studied in the thesis.Based the characteristics of the non-linear text on the tire mold, the algorithm for the generating of the word processing path is studied; according to the needs of the cooperative enterprise, the post-processing techniques for the five-axis machine tools is also studied. Specific works of the paper are as follows:1.Research of algorithm of cylindrical cross-section for tire mold text processingAccording to the distribution features of the tire mold text, select the theory of cylindrical section as the path planning algorithm for the text processing of tire mold. The application of cylindrical cross-section algorithm for word processing of the tire mold has been intruduced, the formulas in some key parts of the algorithm also have been derived in the thesis.2.Research of techniques on the five-axis post-processingBased on the success of 4-axis machine tools, the cooperative enterprise should to develop the five-axis machine. The algorithm of the coordinate conversion in the post-processing of the five-axis CNC machine tools has been studied, also the configuration method of the machine information in generation processing of the part program has been intrudeced too.3. The validation of cylindrical cross-section method for word processingWith the help of UG/CAD and UG/CAM, the verification and comparison of the effectiveness of cylindrical cross-section method have been studied. The results show that the word processing of the tire mold using cylindrical cross-section method has characteristics as following:(1) The cylindrical cross-section method is a more simple method of calculation for text processing on the surface of the tire mold.(2) The part program is more simple, the word processing is more efficient. (3) The sources of calculate error are relatively more little, corresponding there is higher precision in process.To the parts as tire mold, the cylindrical cross-section method for the text processing has a nice adaptability, high efficiency of code generation and processing, can meet engineering application in the relative enterprises.
