The changes of internal and external factors that come from the ways of life, use behavior and family model, bring new challenges to the study on the design of functional products. Although there is a prosperity sanitary products market, people involve less in the design of functional sanitary products. Apart from above, most companies focus more on the configurations, materials and colors of their products, which also leads to high demand of products on user-friendly features.This research is aimed at the study of family sanitary products, analyzing contemporary forms, functions and techniques of products, based on the involved studies of home and abroad. It summarizes individual needs for bath articles through family talks, target tasks performed in families, and target-task-based questionnaire. With the analysis of the data and equipment use environment, it presents the main demand on design and the ideal model of the contemporary Chinese mainstream families. Eventually, by scrutinizing the product concept and spirit, we are looking forward to revealing those remaining problems and drawbacks,, and further, to improving the design.This research takes a close and careful look at the life style and general behavior habits of Chinese customers, expecting to find out the inspiration attributing to the advisable breakthrough, so that the importance of user demands and close ties between demands and design solutions could be considered as a prerequisite to guide the practical design. This research method is a beneficial study for the innovation of functional sanitary products. |
