| Copper is a kind of widely used non-ferrous metal with excellent property which is also one of the earliest non-ferrous metal used and exploited by human being in early history. With the rapidly develop of Chinese science and technology the consumption of non-ferrous metal is becoming huger and huger including copper. So in order to comprehensively recover copper from a copper mine and copper slag is of great significant to the economic effectiveness. Nowadays the common processes of slag impoverishment comprise slow cooling-select flotation process, water quenching and refusion of converting slag process and the settlement electric furnace impoverishment process. Although both the three processes are available, there is also some insufficient.Combined with the actual production of industry, this paper puts forward the new process to deal with copper smelting slag by creating a weak reducing atmosphere through transforming the traditional P-S converter which has the function of jetting fuel into the chamber for thermal insulation and jetting solid reductant from tuyere into furnace hearth into reduction converter. In accordance with thermodynamic calculation and Industrial real situation we can provide the recommendation of transforming the traditional P-S converter as following (1) Make a front opening on the headwall of traditional P-S converter then install one fuel oil airbrush which was devised with the capacity of supply quantity of oil is 100kg~500kg/h.(2) Aggrandize a insulating layer as thick as 100mm on the furnace mouth of traditional P-S converter with refractory brick. (3) Devise two tuyeres its center to center spacing to head wall is 1.6 m, move down the tuyeres in the refractory brick and make them form a reductant thoroughfare with the downward inclination are 10°~30°(4)In order to guarantee furnace temperature, furnace mouth of traditional P-S converter will be narrowed.Laboratory small experimental simulation and industrial verification experiments indicate that the new process has the characteristic as following (1) Process short, simple equipment and easy operation.(2) Magnetic iron reduction thoroughly, magnetic iron in converter slag is usually higher than smelting slag, Fe3O4 in converter slag is approximately41% and 7% in smelting slag, so mix the two kinds of slag the average content of Fe3O4 will be reduced and the impoverishment of converter slag and smelting slag will happen at the same time. Under the condition that feeding 100 tons to the melt furnaces every hour, the average content of Fe3O4 in mixed slag is14%.The reductant can be blowed-in effective reduced Fe3O4 dynamics condition is well so the impoverishment of slag is very efficaciously. Laboratory small experimental simulation indicates that Fe3O4containing in can be reduced to below 5%. (3) Low energy consumption because the system are composed of liquid metal slag, dealing with 50 tones copper containing 41% Fe3O4 smelting slag when the furnace temperature is 1250℃, the transmission rate of coal based reductant is 30Kg/min and Fe/SiO2 containing in slag is 1.25, only needs mazout 284kg. (4) high copper recovery rate.The replication experiment indicates that disposing 50 tones copper containing 46% Fe3O4 smelting slag copper in the cast slag is 0.34% Fe3O4 containing is 3.55%, the recovery rate of copper is 89.4%.(5)This new process is appropriate for old plant which has the leave unused adopting P-S converter.It also can be adopted by new plant because of the smaller investment. |
