Filter/separator is a equipment using the theory of coalescence dehydration to realize water-oil separation. Internal flow field of filter/separator is one of the key factors influencing dewatering properties of filter/separator, so it is important to analysis the internal flow field of filter/separator for design a filter/separator.This paper uses the software of Fluent to analysis the internal flow field of filter/separator. Firstly, establishes a simplified filter/separator model for simulation, then generates the model with tetrahedrons and hexahedrons grids, and simulates the internal flow field of vertical and horizontal filter/separator by SIMPLE algorithm. To verify the correctness of simulation, contrast the simulation results with the result of SFM. On this basis, this paper analyzed the influence of the factors, such as the arrangement of cartridges, the flow distribution and the permeability of coalescence cartridges, on vertical and horizontal filter/separator's velocity distribution. All of this provide a basis for design and manufacture the internal structure of vertical and horizontal filter/separators, the flowrate distributor and coalescence cartridges.
