The selection of the suspended packing of bamboo charcoal, the role played by bamboocharcoal in the operation of the MBBR process and adsorption regeneration process are studied.The expeirmental results have been shown as followed:(1)The types of bamboo have a big impact on the dry density of bamboo charcoal andthe hanging-membrane density,but have little impact on the wet desity. The grain size ofbamboo charcoal has no influence on the wet density and hanging-membrane density, but hasgreat influence on the speed of moisture absorption. The fastest of moisture absorption is thebamboo charcoal of grain size of3.6mm. Activation treatment for bamboo charcoal has a bigeffect on the wet density and hanging-membrane density. Therefore, the bamboo charcoalwhich has been activated under1100。C,grain size of1.25~4mm has been selected,whose drydensity is0.35?0.40g/3cm,the wet density and hanging-membrane density are about0.853g/cm.(2)The way of" inlfow continuously according to the design load11was adopted to hangmembrane in MBBR process. The results showed when HRT=7h,gas-water ratio of35:1,temperature kept in16。C,the biological membrane can mature atfer14days, average CODremoval rate was over60%. Cystourethroscopy showed that microbial gathered on the surfaceof bamboo charcoal and bamboo charcoal powder mostly.(3)The removal rate of COD,NH3-N,TN,TP and the number of the attached microbesof bamboo charcoal was determined with different parameter values of filling rate, gas waterratio,hydraulic retention time, volume loads conditions and model wastewater used as inflow,bamboo charcoa used as suspended packing.The best operation process condition was: the fillrate of20%,the gas-water ratio of35:1,HRT=4.5h3,volume load of1.6kg/(m.d). At thistime,the removal rate of COD,NH3-N,TN,TP were91.2%,85.8%,57.6%,44%,the numberf attarfill rat11oched micobes of bamboo charcoal of e of20%wasl.47x10.(4)The activated bamboo charcoal adsorption of phenol was multilayer absorption,which was descirbed by Frenndlich adsorption isotherm. The iftting equation of Freundlichadsorption isotherm was: Y=0.504X+1.237. Attached microbes of bamboo charcoal haverole on degradation of phenol. Besides, the comparision of the SAC and DAC can be used toevaluate the contirbution of the degradation cumulative effect of Attached microbes. Thebiological regeneration rate was basically around20%. In addition,as substrate concentrationincreases, biological regeneration rate was raised.
