Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), as one of most promising De-NOx technologies, received more and more attention for the stricter enverionmental standard. The flue gas flow field before and in the reactor plays a key role in the performance of SCR. Based on a cold-test model experiment, the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method is to used to predict the flow field and then be validated. Focusing on SCR of 4×250MW units at GaobeiDian power plant, the related numerical simulation is performed, and then used to optimize and adjust the practical structure of the SCR reactor and the ducts.Firstly, the flow fields, together with NH3 diffusion, of SCR reactor and the connecting sections between economizer and SCR are numerically simulated. Based on the CFD result, the design of the reactor and duct is optimized.Secondly, based on the measurement of the NOx concentration at the catalyst outlet, the ammonia flow flux is optimized to get the well-proportioned NOx and NH3 distribution. Finally, after the optimization, the test results, verified by the third party, showed that the key performances of the case are satisfied..Compared with the other simulation results and onsite test results, The process, standard and the step of the flow field simulation of the SCR are summarized which can be the technology base of the flow simulation for the future.
