With the rapid development of industry people have more and more demand on machining accuracy and surface roughness of mechanical products. Ball-screw plays a large role in machine tool drive. So screw-grinding quality directly affects the machining precision. However, the numerical control rate of current domestic screw grinding is low. It is common that the CNC system of screw-grinding machine have to be imported. In this context, Huazhong numerical control Co. Ltd. and Nanjing New-fangda numerical control Co. LTD. develop the screw-grinding CNC system jointly.HNC system is a open CNC system in a DOS supported environment, which provide the user a convenient second development environment. This thesis discuss the method of the special NC system developing. We successfully develop the screw-grinding CNC system by means of system-software modification, which complete the control of grinding-carriage speed and displacement automatically. The applications range of screw-grinding machine and automation level are improved.From the start of the mechanical composition of screw grinding machine, we analyzed the working principle of CNC screw-grinding machine, put forward and implement the key technology and the problem of this topic research. In addition, we analyzed and studied the common processing function of actual grinding operation process from a practicability angle of screw-grinding.In the end the CNC screw grinding machine is tested, and its result of measurement shows that the CNC system of grinding can fully satisfy the requirement of the user.
