The project originates from a research project"The Research and Development of Fast Gear Hob Matching System"of Zhejiang Shuanghuan Driveline Co., Ltd. It aims to develop a C/S (Client/Server) system which can automatically match replacement hobs in stock. Hob is one of the efficient cutters to machine rotary gears. It is widely used in gear production. In recent years, with the rapid development of motorcycle, cars and construction machinery and other relevant industries, the types and quantities of gear production have been increased considerably, as well as the types and number of the hob in the stock of the gear machining enterprises. Gear machining enterprises can not only utilize the hob in stock efficiently, but also can save costs of large quantity of new hobs and shorten the production cycle of gear production. Therefore, the research of the fast gear hob matching system is of important theoretical meaning and practical value.Based on the applications requirement of the fast gear hob matching systems, this paper tends to present an in-depth study of the principle, conditions and method of characters of matching replacement hobs in stock and the design and development of the fast gear hob matching system. Major contents of the thesis are as follows:â‘ Through the analysis of common types of tooth profile of hob, four types of tooth profile are summarized. According to structure characters of these types, equations of tooth profile curve are built. Based on gear meshing theory, conjugate curve equations of tooth profile of hob are derived.â‘¡According to design principles of hob and features of gear production, the method of matching replacement hobs in stock is analyzed and matching conditions are proposed. In the situation of considering tooth error of hob, an in-depth study of matching conditions is present.â‘¢Based on the three conditions, the structure, the functional modules and the operation process is designed in detail and the fast gear hob matching system is developed using VB programming technology, SQL Server database technology and secondary development technology of AutoCAD. â‘£An application example of the system is analyzed. And the result of analysis shows the system can meet the industrial applications requirement.
