The design of fine-blanking process is the key to the fine-blanking mold design process and the base of die structure design. Process analysis of fine-blanking, blank layout, and strip layout are three important aspects of fine-blanking process design. Process analysis provides a reference to the possibility of fine-blanking parts which is processed, the method of blank layout determines the level of material utilization, the Arrangement and combination of processes not only affect the structure and life of the mold, but also the precision, efficiency-related.In this paper, the characteristics, structure and methods of die & mould CAD system is analyzed, the specific functions of each module in the fine-blanking process system were analyzed. Then the three technologies of fine-blanking process are lucubrated by knowledge-based background.With the purpose of integrating experience and knowledge into the design system, the paper established the rule-based process knowledge base, and completed the module of process analysis. In order to achieve the blank layout module, the fine blanking technology was introduced into the nesting algorithm, and its precision was optimized, by the technology of the assembly of multi-entity. The paper used the strip layout techniques based on the knowledge reasoning to classify, identify and map the process knowledge, realized the interactive design of strip layout. In order to facilitate process organization, the project management structure is designed, and "top-down" method of the die design is adopted by using the assembly tree. Finally, according to the application development method of the Solidworks software based on COM technology, the interface design and the functions realization of fine blanking process planning are finished. The system is based on the design features of fine blanking process, therefore it could greatly reduce the dependence on the designer experience, also the process design cycle and improve design efficiency.
