Currently, the research on the drawing process of square box isn't very mature. The blank design of square box is an important research issue on the drawing process. The reasonable shape and size of calculation blank contributes to improve the stress and strain status and forming performance of square box. Furthermore, reasonable blank shape can also save material, or even remove from the subsequent trimming process, which greatly reduces production costs.In the actual production, there are not a uniform method to design the outline, the outline size of expand square box blank is carried out by the method of drawing. However, the blank designed by this method cannot be drawn to square box with good port, especially in the corner region, there will be significant fluctuations phenomenon. So it is necessary to optimize the outline size of square box.According to the drawing characteristics of shallow square boxes without flanges, a two-factor optimal blank design method was proposed in this paper. The corner region of expand square box blank was studied by two-factor optimal design method, while based on this method, key factors affecting the forming of square box were determined by factorial analysis. Using these key factors as experimental factors, an optimal experiment was designed through the response surface method, which uses Dynaform software to simulate the results of each combination of different factors and levels. As a result, a prediction model was developed by the establishment of the regression model whose test indicator is the height mean square error. By verifying and analyzing this model, the optimal solution for this model and the optimal parameters of this square box blank were also determined. Analyzing this parameters, the result prove the two-factor method and the model is correct and logical, which plays an important role to the similar square box blank design as a reference.
