As a linear project, railway runs through various regions, confronts with complicated ecological environment. Construction and operation of railways may bring negative impact to the environment. Nowadays, the construction of high-speed railway is at a fast developing stage and the environment protection has become an important issue. This article is a research on the influence and countermeasure of Datong to Xi'an high-speed special passenger line to the Yellow River wetland natural reserves, and it is intended to guide the engineering design and construction. Meanwhile, it is also an important guidance for the current and future high-speed railway design.Due to limited line selection options, the newly constructed high-speed special passenger line from Datong to Xi'an come across the Yellow River wetland natural reserves unavoidably. The research use RS, GIS technology and sample investigation, to study the function, land utilization, vegetation, animals and major protected animal's quantity, distribution and habit along the Shaanxi Yellow River wetland to Shanxi Yuncheng Provincial natural reserves, also to analyze the variation trend and environmental problems. By studying the engineering design and construction plan, and using overlaying method to analyze the relationship between the railway and the reservations, the extent of influence of railway construction to the major protected subjects, fish, vegetation, and biodiversity, thus to come up with pollution control and prevention method, and ecology alteration and recovery compensation method accordingly. The main actions include: adjusting the functional zone within the natural reserve; optimizing the railway line design, bypassing and keeping away from major protected animal's habitat, big spanning and high bridging design, acoustical board design, vegetation recovery on the construction site design; optimizing construction plan by using advanced construction technique, reasonable construction schedule, strict controlling on waste gas, waste water, waste residue and noise generation and discharge, decreasing the negative impact of construction to the natural reserve to the maximum extent possible; proposing financial compensation to natural reserves in order to protect and ecological restore the major protected subjects; proposing environment supervision and control within the natural reserves. The above proposals can highly minimize the negative impact of Datong to Xi'an railway to the natural reserves. Our proposal on abating the negative impact to the environment has approved by the environment, forestry, water conservancy and scenic spot administrative departments. It is believed that railway line has bypassed the major protected birds'habitat and breeding area. Main protected bird species will migrate to other areas as the construction going on, however, the phenomenon will disappear as the recovery of the vegetation and the birds'adjustment to the new environment. In addition, the designed bridge is high and the bridge pier has small contact area to the ground, thus the influence of bridging to the vegetation recovery and animals in the natural reserve is not significant. The whole construction process will take actions on abatement, recovery, and compensation, thus to minimize the negative impact to the natural reserves. No essential changes will happen to the structure and function of the natural reserves. In conclusion, it is acceptable to initiate the construction at the natural reserves. |
