The experiment used water and alkali dipping treatment to treat the bamboo specimens under vacuum and normal pressure. This paper studied the influence of dipping treatment on mildew rate, moldy appear time, moldy growth rate, moldy form and starch content of bamboo. This paper discussed the relationship between mildew rate and the content of starch, mass loss rate, moisture rate, and compared the mildew rate and moldy appear time under different dipping treatment.The results of water dipping treatment indicated that:dipping time and vacuum degree have no impact on moldy appear time. The mildew rate of treated bamboo is lower than the control group. As dipping time and vacuum degree increases, the mildew rate of bamboo cross-section, longitudinal section and taxaria section decreases. The dipping time and vacuum degree has an obvious effect on the mildew rate of bamboo cross-section, longitudinal section and taxaria section.The results of alkaline dipping treatment indicated that:The moldy appear time of treated bamboo is late than the control group. The alkaline concentration has an obvious effect on moldy appear time and mildew rate of bamboo cross-section and taxaria section. Dipping time has an obvious effect on mildew rate of cross-section and taxaria section. The vacuum degree has an obvious effect on mildew rate of longitudinal section and taxaria section.The starch content of treated bamboo is smaller than control group. As the starch content increases, the mildew rate of bamboo cross-section, longitudinal section and taxaria section increases. As the mass loss rate increases, the mildew rate of bamboo cross-section, longitudinal section and taxaria section decreases. The moldy growth rate of treated bamboo is slower than control group.There are four fungi during the moldy test, white fungi, black fungi, yellow fungi, grey fungi.The results of the comparison among different dipping treatment indicated that:alkaline dipping treatment have better effect on moldy appear time and mildew rate of bamboo cross-section than water dipping treatment But water dipping treatment have better effect on mildew rate of longitudinal section and taxaria section than alkaline dipping treatment.
