Photographic film is a special kind of archives,since the invention so far,carrying the economic,political,cultural and other aspects of society about 100 years of historical facts.However,due to age,most affected by the physical,chemical,human and other factors,resulting in mildew,sticky stains,silver mirror,acetic acid syndrome and other diseases,seriously affect the film record image information security.Since the eighties,more and more archivist have done a lot of research,but there is still no systematic and effective repair and protection methods for the film mildew.In this paper,the effects of mold and contaminants on the film were determined by the various performance tests.And a comprehensive study of how to respectively repair and protect the emulsion layer mildew and lamellar mildew were carried out and put into practice.It mainly includes the following five aspects.1.Through reviewing a large number of literatures,to understand the basic structure of photographic film and research on the disease of the film mildew at home and abroad,we put forward practical research ideas for their lack of research;In addition,the analysis of different strains' resulting substances by metabolism and the damage mechanism of the product to the film lay the foundation for the later study of the method of removing the mold.2.Comparative study of mildew and non-mildew negative film image information,microscopic morphology,tensile strength,folding resistance,thermal stability,molecular structure and other aspects,analyzing the mechanism of the effect of mold on the performance of the film,which provided the theoretical basis for the later study of mildew film repair.3.The different bases which are treated by sodium hypochlorite or not were characterized by SEM,FT-IR,video contact angle,TG and visible spectrum,we analysis the feasibility of removing lamellar by using sodium hypochlorite from the microstructure,chemical structure,thermal stability,hydrophilicity and visible light transmittance and other aspects;And tracking observation the film which has been repaired for five years.4.The specificity of the mold emulsion was analyzed,and the repair and protection method of the emulsion layer of the emulsion layer was put forward,the masking agent of the emulsion layer was developed,and we test and analysis it's protective effect,reversibility and mechanical properties of the film and other aspects.5.Firstly,specificity of industrial testing X-ray film was analyzed,and different repair methods were designed according to different degree of mildew.Secondly,the morphological identification method was used to identify the molds of moldy mildew to understand the main bacteria causing the mildew of the film.A method of repairing the interference of light scattering interface was proposed,and a Nano-filled repairing agent was developed and a sprayed stent suitable for large-format negative film was developed.In this paper,the mechanism of film damaged by the mold and contaminants was studied,and the repair and protection of different mildew films such as mildew of base layer mildew,emulsion mold mildew,large format industrial X-ray film mildew.The preparation of the emulsion layer mold masking agent,Nano-materials to fill the repair agent,invented a large format negative film spray stent,detailing the repair process of the film;and all the results were applied to repair the Yan'an Revolution Memorial Hall,Yuyang District Archives,Hubei Province archives collection film,the repair effect is good,and the re-mildew and film deterioration phenomenon were not occur during five years protection.
