Preliminary Analysis On Unisex Of Men's Garment

Since the reform and opening for over thirty years, there has been a profound change in China's economic and social conditions. Diversity is one of the most remarkable features. The way to realize the diversity of our society and its connections with garment as well as the trends are always the focus today.However, the social diversity leads to public's diversified demands. Given the diversified demands of modern men, they become the focus concerned by society. The men's unisex garment is just satisfing this part of consumers. This paper analyzes the conditions of men's garment based on the social phenomena of unisex clothing; and studies how to put the small accessory of lace into the design of men's modern garment, so that persue a wider development of the men's garment design.The author uses the material contrast method (i.e. integrate the spinning wool with lace) and makes a modeling change to the silhouette of men's garment in the diploma design. This work is inspired by lace. The author wants to expresses her design intention by this element which is often used for women's garment. We can also find the combination of lace and men's garment in early fashion brands, even the complicated lace used for European men's garment in earlier 18th century. Distinguished from the application mentioned above, in the background of ready-made men's modern garment, this garment series with lace designed by author is neither focused on the top-grade fashions nor the aristocratic court garment. It is really acceptable to the publics for common use that could meet the needs of most men.This paper is consistent with the development of human-based diversity in today's society. This is a field that arouses extensive attention with positively social significance, providing a new sight and the oretical support for men's garment.
