Nowadays,partial-size tunneling machines are used widely in mining production in our country.The paper intoduces the domstic and foreign development survey of the roadheader expansion internal cutting arm,and points out the significance of the study.In this paper,partial-size tunneling machine of EBZ-160 is made as an example.Introduced the machine on the main structure,basic parameter,working principle. Analysis the structure and working principle of the expansion interanl cutting arm.Afer the analysis of the kinematics and mechanics about the expansion cutting arm,we can find the mathematic model under the tipical working condition.Erect the three-dimension model for the expansion protective canister,expansion external canister,expansion internal cansiter,floating airproof frame,cutting head spindle through the software SolidWorks,then,set them up, The finite analysis on the expansion cutting arm through the software Simulation.Through the finite analysis we can find that the stress and deformation of cutting arm are even.No abrupt change.The design of cutting arm is reasonable.But the displacement about the expansion external canister and expansion intenal cansiter is too great.this is in line with their actual work.Factors were compared within the expansion external canister and expansion intenal canister deformation degree of size.Point out that it is greatest impact on the external load.Proposed should be based on the hardness of coal of different cutting speeds to different.This can be better protected the cutting arm and to ensure production efficiency.
