It is an urgent task to develop homemade multi-wire diamond saw because it is too expensive to spread and its domestic research just started.Based on the market research on the technical parameters of gang saw and existing foreign similar products,as well as the dimension format of granite block in the market, the technical parameters of new multi-wire saw are determined. Structure and performance characters of the foreign advanced multi-wire diamond saw were research deeply. Based on the analysis of the saw's structure and function and on the basis of independence principle of function and structure, a serious of modular were divided and designed. Focuing on the modular of support and rotating wheel and tension wheel and maid drivewheel and so on, and by using TRIZ theory, an improved program was proposed and the three dimensional model wasestablished. The global design was finished by means of integrated designing each modular.On the basis ANSYS Workbench(hereinafter referred to as AWE)platform, research on directly import the multi-wire saw modal built by Solidworks software and to achieve Solidworkswere three-dimensional design and coordination and management of CAE analysis was carried out. Based on spindle FEM modal, under the environment of AWE, material definition, mesh,contact setting, load and boundary conditions in pre-treatment are expounded, and static, dynamic and fatigue analysis were carried out. Spindle was optimal designed by using optimal design and DesignXplorer VT modal based on variational technique and parameters of CAD modal controled by AWE parameters manager.With regard to complex assemblies, using DesignXplorer module based on experimental design to optimize the design. Take the active lift sleeve module of multi-wire saw for example, the sleeve structure scheme tend to be the best comprehensive index was obtained.The research projects aim to integrate modern design and simulation optimization methods to develop diamond multi-wire saw machine which has complete independent intellectual property rights and to realize multi-wire saw parts parametric CAD modeling and finite element analysis CAE seamless integration rapidly. It is significant to achieve global machine optimal and serial design to fill the gaps. It also has a very good reference value to develop other devices through the whole process of diamond multi-wire saw design.The study is funded by natural science foundation of Shandong province(item numbers:Z2007F07) and Science and by Technology Development Planning of Shandong Province(item numbers:2010GGX10405).
