The ramp region overlay area of the Songnan Rangzi well is comparative big. By studying the precipitation facie, according to the distribution feature of the four sand bodies, we divided the ramp region into five principal river course zones. In this theme, we have studied the technology of how to protect the reservoir in Wulanaodu Daxiazi well river course and the Chagan Lake river course. By carefully analyzing the data of the reservoir nature, clay mineral component and formation water salinity, we concluded that this area is strong water sensitive and tight formation. Preventing the formation from being water sensitive and water locked is the key step of the reservoir protection. We should also pay high concentration on the problem of solid block up. In the laboratory we optimized the KCl polymer sealing drilling fluid. We tested the performance of the drilling fluid by using it in two wells. The borehole is regular, constructing and well logging is favorable. The permeability recovery value of the drilling fluid system has reached 88.14%.
