The evaluation of eco-environmental sensitivity is an important base of the ecosystem health and resilience assessment, as well as ecological function regionalization. The eco-environmental sensitivity can reflect the possibility of ecological disturbance and environmental problems, and it can provide scientific basis for eco-environment planning and management.Macau is a typical island of southern China, which is currently facing a series of environmental problems, such as a scarcity of water resources, shortage of forest resources, monotonic biodiversity and landscape pattern fragmentation. Based on the analysis of eco-sensitivity research, six eco-environmental factors (slope factor, hydrologic factors, vegetation factor, biodiversity factors, living environment factors and ecosystem service value factor) were selected to evaluate the eco-environmental sensitivity using eco-factors-valuing method and GIS technique. In this paper, high-resolution satellite imagery was analyzed based on eCognition software. Considering the weighted superposition of sensitivity factors, the eco-environmental sensitivity comprehensive index values were achieved in following five grades sensitivity region, high sensitivity region, moderate sensitivity region, sensitivity region, non-sensitivity region. The results showed that the area percentages of extreme sensitivity region, high sensitivity region, moderate sensitivity region, sensitivity region, non-sensitivity region were 5.8%,15.9%,12.5%,17.2%and 48.7%, respectively. Furthermore, the counter plans and the suggestions were proposed to improve the eco-environmental sensitivity problems in Macau. The in-depth analysis of regional ecological problems and formation factors also provided good technical support for the ecological protection and industrial layout of this region.
