With the development of science and technology, there are many kinds of advanced processing technology applied in manufacturing unceasingly. Especially with the development of the computer technology and CNC machining technology, CNC machining has already become the main processing method of modern cutting methods. How to improve the processing efficiency under the premise of guaranteeing the processing quality has always been a very important topic in mechanical processing. The most significant influencing factor to the processing quality and processing efficiency is the cutting parameters, so how to select the optimal cutting parameters becomes our top priority to solve.In this paper, we took the shell component of radar as the research object. Considering the cutting parameters optimization problem of the shell's NC machining process, we chose processing quality and processing efficiency as the optimization index. On the base of optimal design of the workpiece machining process, we carried on the cutting experiments following the experiment plan arranged by using the orthogonal experiment design,and carried on the cutting parameter optimization of a single index to the surface roughness and processing efficiency, so to find the influence rule of cutting parameters to the single index.After these,we made comprehensive optimization analysis on the two indexes by using the grey correlation analysis method, and then obtained the influence rule of cutting parameters to the comprehensive index and the optimal combination of cutting parameters.At last, we verified the optimized result by experiment, then through the comparison of the data obtained before and after the experiment, we could find that the optimized cutting parameters could meet the purpose of enhancing the processing efficiency under of the premise of satisfying the processing quality.
