With the rapid development of urbanization creating enormous pressure for urbantransport, bus priority, as a new modern concept, can effectively relieve urban trafficcongestion. Urban public transport is a typical, open and complex system, despite of itslong-term development,there are still many drawbacks, pending.Complex network is anemerging discipline which is widely applied in various areas of social life and provides anew perspective and platform for our study of urban public transport.Urumqi bus network is selected as an analysis object in this paper, where thecomplex features of the Urumqi bus network system is elaborated at first, then a trafficnetwork model of Urumqi based on complex networks is built starting from the point ofview of the bus lines and the docking sites, from static statistical properties such as thedegree and betweenness the Urumqi bus network topology, network availability on themacro level are analyzed and described, the robustness of the network is analyzed in bothrandom and deliberate attacks and the process of network changing is demonstrated whennode degree is attacked in descending order.In this paper the static and dynamic characteristics of the bus network in Urumqiare theoretically studied, specific analysis data is listed and a method of optimizing thenetwork structure proposed, which are of practical significance for avoiding blindness andrepeatability of the construction of urban public transport networks.
