Cervus albirostris belongs to Mammalia Artiodactyla Cervidae Axis. Since Przewalski coming from Russia getting the specimens in the first time in1883has been120years. During this period, major domestic and foreign scholars or research institutions had done a lot of research in taxonomy, ecology, animal physiology and other aspects of C. albirostris, and had got lots of research results. The study site of the investigation of C. albirostris was located in C. albirostris Nature Reserve of the Tobet Autonomous Region Gongbujiangda County, and the study time was selected in October2010. Throughout the whole course of the investigation, We used the field direct observation method, the access method and data collection method to investigate, and the field direct observation method is the survey method that the sample line combined with sample quadrat. The main content of this investigation involved the living habits, the population and its distribution of C. albirostris in the scope of protection, as well as other wild vertebrate resources. In this investigation, we got the following key findings:1, In the individuals of C. albirostris, there are obvious differences between mature individuals and young individuals in morphology. For example, the colour of young individuals is lighter than mature ones, and the white markings of the throat is also significantly more than mature ones.2, The C. albirostris pellets is showing three types as loose granular, round lump and cylindrical. These three types of pellets are all composed by a large number of fecal pellets. The reason for this phenomenon is caused by the differences between individuals as well as feeding ingredients.3, The footprint of C. albirostris is7.3cm length and6.1cm width in average, and its widest point is located in the footprint of the3/4. There is an acute angle in the front of the footprint with45°, and the back-end shows bluct circle, the distance between two toes is1.5cm in average.4, C. albirostris is always sidely or pronely laying on the meadow, leaving an obivious sleep trace, and we have them photographed in the investigation process. 5, We found that three kinds of the white-lipped deer calls as call sound of bucks, low chirping of does and a warning sound of them two. There is an the acoustic analysis of these three types.6, In the protected areas, C. albirostris likes having eat at5:30am to8:00am and17:00pm to20:00pm, and mostly likes eating herb such as Poa alpine, Carex stenocarpa, Polygonum viviparum, Thalictrum alpinum, etc. and has the hobby of licking salt.7, C. albirostris has two short-distance migratory habits in this protected areas:1, the one is between upstream and downstream of Bailang and Yonglang;2, the other one is between peak and valley. This phenomenon is related to the topography of the protected areas and human herding activities.8, During the breeding period, C. albirostris mating group is not strictly follow a (male):more (female) ratio, and doesn't have obvious vigilance and exclusion between two different mating group.9, We had made it clear that Ejueka, Zhongmuqie, Gongbupala, Mabuku, etc. are the main activity area of C. albirostris, and theoretical population is657.10, There are Many threats to C. albirostris in the protected areas.11, The survey found56species of wild vertebrate in the protected areas, which belongs to3classes,10orders,25families, Including a number of national key protected wild animals.Through this investigation, we got a number of informations on Taxonomy and Behavior of C. albirostris, and also determined the number and distribution of C. albirostris in this protected areas, as well as other wild vertebrate resources. The above findings fill and improve the study of C. albirostris, and will be a great help for the future planning and construction of C. albirostris nature reserve and a good guidance for the protected areas to implement highly targeted and efficient protection measures to C. albirostris.
