Massicus raddei Blessig belongs to Coleoptera Cerambycidae, is an improtant borer of the oakerys (Quercus spp.). Aim to develop the value of Massicus raddei Blessig, which is acted people's food and medical resources,to make it benefit for us. Using the extract of Massicus raddei Blessig as the object, the protein, amino acid, minerals, trace elements and other nutritional ingredients are respectively determined by Kjeldahl apparatus, automatic amino-acid analyzer, plasma atomic emission spectrographic, atomic absorption spectrometry; Using animal experiments to study the immunological function of the extract of Massicus raddei Blessig. The findings are as follows:(1) In this study, the content of protein, amino acids, polysaccharose of extract of Massicus raddei Blessig respectively was 37.28%, 37.25%, 8.61%. Furthermore, the test extract of insect contained 7 human essential amino acids, and the essential amino acids occupied 40.97% of the total amino acids. The ratio of essential amino acids content to the nonessential amino acids was 69.39%. And the amino acid containing sulfur (Met+Cys) was the first limiting amino acid of extract of Massicus raddei Blessig. In addition, the extract of Massicus raddei Blessig contained a lot of minerals and trace elements, such as Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Mo, Ni, Se, Cr and so on. Based on the data of the nutrition values, the extract of Massicus raddei Blessig can be used as a high quality edible resource.(2)The results of 10 days feeding test in rats showed that thymus indexes of 100 mg/kg extract of Massicus raddei Blessig meal treatment was significant higher than that of blank control, there were no significant differences in thymus indexes and spleen indexes between 3 meal treatments and blank control. Carbon clearance index of 100mg/kg, 200mg/kg extract of Massicus raddei Blessig meal treatments were significant higher than that of blank control. There was no significant differences in content of serum hemolysin between 3 meal treatments and normal control. Thickness of foot pad of 100 mg/kg extract of Massicus raddei Blessig meal treatment was significant higher than that of blank control. It suggested that extract of Massicus raddei Blessig meal couled inclease cellular immune function and nonspecific immune function of mice, so it is considered that it has immunomodulatory effect.
