Soil is one of the country's most important natural resources, and is also the material basis of human survival. The condition of soil environment not only directly affects the development of national economy, but also relates to agricultural safety and human health. The research of soil environmental monitoring information system can provide effective assistance for scientific management of soil environmental monitoring data, and also the scientific methods and basis for the analysis, prevention and cure of soil environment pollution. But at present, there is research on soil environmental monitoring information more emphasis on soil resources and soil fertility, little on soil environment. And there is no information system research on long-term soil environmental monitoring. In this thesis, the problems above are aimed to be solved using the theories and methods of information science and spatial analysis. A soil environmental monitoring information system is developed to satisfy the needs of soil environment routine monitoring in the thesis based on the database of soil environmental monitoring information, supported by the assessment model system for soil environment quality and also the modern information technology—GIS, including:(1) A soil environmental monitoring database system is established based on Oracle and ArcSDE, including property database, GIS database and management database. The soil property database is used for storing environmental monitoring data, the GIS database for spatial data, and the management database mainly for system management data. Every database is not isolated but interrelated.(2) The methods of spatial analysis and quality evaluation are applied to establish the appropriate analysis and evaluation models which are seamlessly integrated in the GIS platform.(3) The soil environmental monitoring information system is developed based on the database, the professional model system above and the enhancement of spatial information display technology. The system has the capabilities of information management, query, analysis, evaluation and presentation.The establishment of the system provides an effective means for the management of soil environmental monitoring information, soil environmental spatial analysis and comprehensive evaluation. It provides technical support for improve the efficiency and accuracy of soil environment monitoring, evaluation and information management. But with the long-term, systematic data accumulation and continued improvement of the professional models, the soil environmental monitoring information system will be built more soundly.
