The early 1990s, Pecora and Carroll proposed chaos synchronization ideas, Ott and his co-workers proposed chaos control ideas. There is a breakthrough development in the area of controlling and synchronization of chaos the past two decades. The research of theoretical and experimental application is promoted vigorously, due to its potential applications in secure communication, chemical reaction, biological systems, and so on. Particularly, some scholars pointed out that chaos synchronization owned potential application values in the field of secure communication. For spread spectrum communication, chaotic signal with its inherent wideband characteristic offers the cheaper alternative to conventional methods. Furthermore owing to a lower cross correlations between segments of chaotic waveforms than between segments of periodic waveforms, chaotic signal will also generates better performance under multipath propagation conditions, so chaos based secure communications are intensely being researched, it has shown promising development and application prospect.In recent years, all kinds of chaos synchronization methods are emerged internationally, such as drive - response method, feedback method and adaptive method. These chaotic synchronization methods in the field of secure communication have achieved remarkable results. Yu proposed a method by using a special nonlinear-coupled term which is constructed by suitable separation between linear and nonlinear terms of the chaotic system. This method is used to discuss the synchronization of two symmetrical nonlinear-coupled chaotic systems. The stability of the synchronous state is examined by the stability criterion of linear systems and the conditional Lyapunov exponent.Based on the SC synchronization method, we study the general chaotic systems and hyperchaotic systems. Then constructed chaotic secure communication system based on the chaotic synchronization, with the use of Lorenz attractor, R?ssler attractor and Chua's circuit equation to design chaotic masking and chaotic modulation scheme. The numerical results show the feasibility of the design, and the robustness for the system noise and parameter mismatch.
