Particle acceleration based on high intensity laser systems has achieved high quality proton beams that compare favourably with conventional acceleration techniques in terms of emitance, brightness and the energy of the proton. The thesis studied on the mechanism of both front and rear side of the target in the interaction of short laser with dense plasma target.Based on the theory of the plasma expansion into a vacuum with Poisson equation and the equation of continuity and motion. The mechanism of front side of the target was analyzed:the ion front velocity and position as a function of time has achieved, the relation of laser pulse, the acceleration time and the max velocity were discussed. The proton could be accelerated to the max velocity when the laser pulse is longer than acceleration time. The simulation is matched with the theory calculate. The expression of the max proton energy has calculated and dependence of the laser pulse length, laser intensity as well as the thickness of the foil. The electron transport and recirculation in the target plasma has effect to the proton acceleration with the isothermal expansions model. The numerical value simulation has compared with the experiment. A one dimensional (1D) PIC simulation has been used to testified.
