Plasma-surface modification is an effective and economical surface treatment technique for many materials in biomedical engineering, industry, medicine. This paper reviews the various common plasma techniques and experimental methods which applied to many research, such as plasma sputtering, plasma implantation, plasma deposition, plasma polymerization, laser plasma deposition, plasma spraying and so on. The unique advantage of plasma modification is that the surface properties and biocompatibility can be enhanced selectively while the bulk of the materials remain unchanged. And research influence on materials'surface through two kinds of DBD plasma devices. One uses atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ) to change surface hydrophobic of PTFE. Another is to deposit SiO2-like film on PTFE through parallel plate DBD plasma in vacuum which changes its surface properties. At the end of paper, it explores the feasibility of deposition of SiO2-like film by using APPJ.
