Wireless terminal real-time location system has wide practical applications. With the rapid development of civilian GPS as well as wireless communication and WebGIS technology, the seamless integration of the three has become a hot area of research.This paper systematically describes the theory and implementation technology about the wireless terminal real-time location system based on the 3G WebMapper system,which is Third-generation network three-dimensional Landscape digital map production and publishing platform,developed by Marine Information Technology Laboratory of Ocean University of China. It successfully sends the GPS data of wireless terminal to the 3G WebMapper server and the control commands from the server to the wireless terminal,achieving the two-way communication between them by SMS messages and GPRS Modem accession to internet. Thus,it achieved accurate and efficient location,tracking and deployment of space target. It also breaks the traditional stand-alone real-time location system functional limitations,through the WebGIS technology and Browser/Server mode,it can make the users quickly e-roaming,range and other operations in the digital map,also implement dynamically display and network share of GPS spatial information. The system effectively integrates the GPS technology, the wireless mobile communication technology, the computer communications and network technology and WebGIS technology and a number of modern high technology.This paper describes the design and implementation of the real-time location of wireless terminals and 3G WebMapper publishing system, including the following four aspects:a) Analyzes the current situation and development trend of domestic and international research. And introduces the theoretical knowledge and application of GPS, wireless data transmission technology and WebGIS technology,clarifying the significance of the research projects.b) Implements the system which can be divided into four modules, namely, the wireless terminal to receive and analysis the GPS data module, wireless communication data transmission module, database management module and 3G WebMapper Server.c) Key technologies are investigated, such as: the reception and analysis of the GPS data; achieving the two-way communication between wireless terminal and 3G WebMapper Server by SMS messages and GPRS Modem accession to internet; construction a digital map Based on 3G WebMapper system framework,which has zoom,distance measurement,area measurement and other functions; display real-time GPS location information In the digital map ,and using the dynamic vector to trace wireless terminal.d) Test and debug the system.A system which combines GPS, wireless communication and WebGIS technologies together is successfully designed and realized. It uses wireless communication technology systems to release GPS data in 3G WebMapper system. Anytime and anywhere,as long as the internet is available, people would be able to trace the wireless terminal in a real-time way, which significantly improves the work efficiency and facilitate the development WebGIS as well. This rapidly increases the work efficiency, and will accelerate the application of WebGIS. The system this paper referred has been applied in these-based three-dimensional dynamic intelligent landscape map ,which is SME Technology Innovation Fund and reliability have been verified by the experimental results and application.
