Risk Management In It Systems Integration Projects

A major part of the information industry, IT system integration provides significant support for the rapid development of the national economy. Along with the fast improvement of the information technology, IT system integration projects grow more and more in both complexity and size, making it a urgency for IT interprises to introduce project management. Typical of interdiscipline collaborative projects, system integration has the features of intellect-intensiveness, finace- intensiveness, vague task borders and frequnent changes in customer needs, which emphasizes the role of risk management in IT ystem integration project management.Starting from the background of IT project risk management and the current domestic and foreign studies, this paper presents the related concepts and fundamental theories of project management and project risk management, and then discusses six major issues in the risk management of domestic IT system integration projects. Based on the above study, the author gives detailed analysis of the overall architecture of IT system integration projects, project risk management planning, project risk indentification, project risk analysis, project risk response planning, project risk monitoring as well as the human resource management of IT system integration projects, and then conduct a case study of the successful ITsystem integration risk management of the XX Bank. Finally, the author points out that to improve and perfect the domestic IT system integration project risk management, risk management plans and response plans should be made on the basis of risk management architecture and experiences, effective risk indentification and evaluation as well as whole-course monitoring should be implemented, and the soundness of human resource should be ensured.
