Jingzhou City, The Industrialization Of Agriculture Development

With the coming of the new century, our agriculture and rural economy have entered a new stage in which the demand and supply of farm products, the international relationship and the systematical circumstance have changed greatly. As a big agricultural city and one of our country's main commodity grain bases, Jingzhou city has achieved great progress in agriculture and rural economy. However, there are many problems emerged along with the progress in these fields. Especially after China accessed into the WTO, the agriculture was obliged to open the market, which made the agricultural product from developed countries a pound to some extent, and deepen the problems in Jingzhou's agriculture and rural economy. Among these problems, the most serious ones are as follows: the contradiction between the small-scale production and the domestic/international market, the farmer's income not corresponding with the growing output, the problem of agricultural labors becoming surplus, etc. These problems have restricted the development of Jingzhou city's agriculture and rural economy. So how to resolve these questions is our first task in the new stage.Beginning with the abundant agricultural resources, the author analyzed the development and the problems in Jingzhou's agriculture, and pointed out that it would be a workable way to carry out the plan agricultural industrialization. Agricultural industrialization will be an important way to accelerate the development and strengthen the competitive power of our agriculture, to promote the rural economy, and to increase the income of the farmers. In the recent years, Jingzhou city has realized the importance of the agricultural industrialization and been on the way of embarking on it. However, as Jingzhou city is still at the initial stage of industrialization of agriculture, there were many problems to be solved. Then, the author analyzed the present situation of the industrialization of agriculture, figured out the achievements and studied the problems and the reasons. Finally, referred to the successfulexperiences of other regions, and concerned with the condition of Jingzhou city, the author posed a series of suggestions.In the thesis, the author adopted the combination of theoretical and practical, empirical and normative methods, considered with the status as a main commodity grain base, made over-all view and studied of the problems in agriculture and industrialization. There were three innovations in this thesis: firstly, although the study about agricultural industrialization was discussed a lot, there were few scholars focused on the area of Jingzhou city, so the author took this responsibility. Secondly, the author fused with the resource traits and the present situation, laid out some new points, worked out some constructive suggestions to accelerate the agricultural industrialization. Lastly, the author put forward to some feasible in order to help the leading enterprises to obtain more financial supports.
