This paper aims at discussing the interrelations between the development of nongovernmental economy and the alteration of social stratums thirty years after the reform and open policy in China, which can be divided into five sections.The main idea of the introduction section is to analyze several concepts of individual economy, nongovernmental economy, nonpublic economy, social stratum, new stratum, etc., the present status about this topic, the materials and research methods this paper needs.The first chapter discusses the conditions of Chinese social stratums and the outlook of Chinese economy before the reform and open policy. What's more, it also probes into some political, economic and social factors influencing the constitution of social stratum in terms of the rural and urban situations at that time, building a firm foundation for the following parts.In the second chapter, the author mainly discusses the new social relations due to the recovery of nongovernmental economy after the reform and open policy, illustrates the new emerging social stratums and their relations, and tries to find the internal motivation and external force behind.Next follows the third chapter, which reviews the progress of the nongovernmental economy from its historical regression to its rapid development, discovers the interrelations between the production, disunion and floatation of the new stratums and the expanding of the nongovernmental economy, and then tells the characteristics of the new stratums in the new economy era from their initial stage to maturity.The fourth chapter illustrates the contradictions among the new stratums and their reconciliation problems in the category of nongovernmental economy. In the meanwhile, this part steps back the contradictions before and comes to the conclusion that every social stratum will finally survive together.To sum up, in the last section, the author concludes that the development of nongovernmental economy and the alteration of social stratums are the main phenomena and impetus of the times, looks into the future of the nongovernmental economy and determines that the form of the new stratums will be inclined to become mature and stable.
