Taebaek Mountain Nature Reserve Ecotourism Suitability Evaluation Studies

There are rich in natural and human landscape and superior ecological environment of higher tourism value in the TaiBai Mountain Nature Preserve. Because the resources are sensibility, they must be highly protected. Recently, with the fast development of popularization tourism, and the exploit deepness of tourism recources is continuously strengthening, the tourism resources and ecological environment of the TaiBai Mountain Nature Preserve is being destroyed. In order to promote sustained utilization of the tourism resources and ecological environment, we must change the development mode of tradition tourism and develop ecotourism. It is certain that we have to evaluate ecotourism suitability on base of the resources condition in domain before developing ecotourism. To minimize the influence of mankind, It may be judged whether or not developing ecotourism suitability, delineating the extent to develop.Based on analyzing the study progress of ecotourism and tourism suitability, discussing the conception of ecotourism and ecotourism suitability, the paper first constructs the index system of ecotourism suitability evaluation and classify assessment standard. Overall object is ecotourism suitability evaluation in domain. It includes three influent factors: ecotourism resources quality, ecotourism environment quality and ecology bear capacity. The lowest is index layer, it is composed of vegetation, land form, climatic condition, percentage of vegetation, biologic abundance index, water reticulation density index, path reticulation density index, slope limitation. The paper applies Analytic Hierarchy Progress(AHP) to calculate the weight of ecotourism suitability evaluation index. Based on the MAPGIS, the paper adopts the multi-object linear weighted function method to assess ecotourism suitability in domain, first draw ecotourism suitability classify map and ecotourism function partition map of Taibai Mountain Nature Preserve.The study result indicates that the most suitable subzone for ecotourism exploitation distributes from the east of Nantianmen to Xiheizui in Zhouzhi county, from the north of Fangyangsi to Dacha and from the north of Dadian to Xiangshuishi in Mei county, which is 17.298 percent of Taibai Mountain Nature Preserve; the moderately suitable subzone(16.64%) distributes in north slope of Taibai Mountain in west of Taibailiang; the suitable subzone(27.68%) distributes from Taibailiang, Laomiaozi to Longdonggou, and disperses in north slope of Taibai Mountain; the marginal suitable and unsuitable subzone(16.64%) distributes from east Taibai Mountain, Baxiantai to Paomaliang, and from Aoshan Mountian to the north and east of Yaowang temple. Based on the ecotourism suitability classify map and preceding function partition map, the paper divides the domain into three subzone of ecotourism function: rational exploitation subzone, control exploitation subzone and non-exploitation subzone. The first subzone (most suitable district) was first choice to ? ecotourism development. The second subzone (moderately suitable district and suitable district) was alternative sector. In the the last subzone(marginal suitable and unsuitable district), all tourism activity was forbade.
