| Since the 1970s, sustainable development has become the core issue in global development. Rural eco-tourism development is based on the pursuit of harmony to live with natural for tourists, is the concrete manifestation and requirement of sustainable development of rural tourism in China.Rural eco-tourism is a new forms of tourism that balances the interests oftourist consumers and the benefits of village community residents from tourismindustry, depends on the natural and human environment and the surroundingvillages to carry out tourism activities, emphasises on rural natural and humanenvironment protection, and trains local people long-term tourism developmentawareness, promotes the progress of civilization in rural communities. The conceptsof ecology civilization is at the core content of sustainable theory development.Compared to traditional rural tourism, the rural eco-tourism is focusing more on thepositive impact of the concept of ecological civilization to natural and humanenvironment protection and community benefits. In the past 20 years, ruraleco-tourism has acquired a rapid development in Yunnan.But in fact, at the earlystage, it still needs enhancement and advancement in many fields, includingstrengthening the ecological and environmental construction, promoting ruralcommunity development, realizing the highly integrated at agricultural, peasants andrural development, making tourism to become an important industry in rural andcontent in community economic. At the same time, the domestic and foreignscholars in various fields of rural tourism studies have made progress, but in ruraleco-tourism development and management of theoretic research or developmentpractice, there are still lack of the basic theories and methods of system in ruraleco-tourism plan and project plan, no perfect model for the type and model, lack of auniversal significance to promote the study results.The research purpose of the paper is combination of rural eco-tourism development and research status, based on Yunnan Province tourism resources widely distributed, large scale, complete types, good mixes, high-grade and distinctive features, analysing the Yunnan rural eco-tourism resources systematically, summing up the typical rural eco-tourism in Yunnan Province, forming a model topromote the sustainable development of the rural eco-tourism.In the paper, chapter I explains the necessity and significance of rural eco-tourism development in Yunnan Province. Chapter II analyses and expounds the scientific meanings and characters of rural eco-tourism. Chapter III analyses and researches the rural eco-tourism and human tourism resources in Central, North-West, South-West, West, South-East, North-East areas in Yunnan, and focuses on the introduction of minority culture and agricultural tour resources. From the experience of the first issued agriculture tourism experimental units, Chapter IV divides rural eco-tourism development types of Yunnan Province in the three content of the destination location types, the content of activities and agricultural activities: the types of the destination location are, suburban type, with the natural heritage or the scenic interesting type, folk village-type type, the ancient towns type, frontier port type;The types of content of activities are education-based, shopping-based, rural food-based, participatory, village-type topics, rural recreation holiday, compound;The types of agricultural activities are sightseeing agricultural, flowers vegetables tourism, and farming / orchard-picking experience. Chapter V analyses the interaction of rural eco-tourism and rural development. Chapter VI addresses the healthy development of Yunnan rural eco-tourism should promote the rural communities to participate actively, make community join in the management pattern, emphasize that local people should be involved in tourism management, the rights and the share of the benefits of tourism, and promote the "new tourism concept" of fair, equity and sustainable;Establish the image of tourism in rural eco-tourism project;SWOT analysis system to the establishment of rural eco-tourism positive countermeasures.
