With the knowledge economic times coming and intensify of the market competition, more and more enterprises, domestic and abroad, realize that the human resource is the first source of enterprises development, and is the core for enterprises to obtain competitive edge. How to improve the functions of human resource management system in an enterprise? Effective performance management is a key link. Performance management exploits performance result into enterprise's daily management activities through the establishment of enterprise strategies, goal decomposition and performance appraisal, so as to inspire the continuous improvement of employees'performances and finally realize the organization strategies and goals.ZD Company is one of the domestic specialized companies which mainly engaged in the crude oil, nature gas reconnoitre and exploitation, and is undertaking the heavy responsibility to explore and develop the crude oil in eastern Zhunkar Basin for Xinjiang Oil Field Company. Taking ZD Company as the research object, this article uses the related theories of performance management and integrates with the professional characteristics, strategic goals and current management situation to proceed in the design and discussion on the performance management system of the company.The article is composed of four chapters. Chapter one, being the relevant theoretical summary, explicates performance management theories, which includes related defines, functions of performance evaluation, purpose and importance of performance management, lays the theoretical basis for the design performance management system.
