| Dry bulk shipping is an important part of international shipping industry. With the change of international economic environment, the adjustment and evolvement of international shipping macroscopical situation, and the diversification of shipping competition, the traditional pattern of shipping development has no longer been used to suit the need of international economics development since the late 20th century. Because of international economic globalization and speed-up developing of information, the competition of international shipping market has become drastically and the price fluctuated frequently. Then shipping companies all over the world, including our country, take unite management as one of the leading strategies. Setting up pools is one way to realize united management. As a result, some large pools focusing on a certain vessel emerge in dry bulk shipping market. Firstly, this thesis makes an approach to the international dry bulk market, which includes the supply market, the demand market, and the fluctuate rules. All these factors constitute the background of dry bulk pools.Secondly, the thesis gives the connotation of shipping alliance, and basing on the emergence and development of the international container strategic alliance, summarizes the cause, characteristic and actuality of the international dry bulk shipping alliance. Through the analysis of supply and demand of dry bulk market, some factors are considered to affect dry bulk shipping market, such as the practice of ISM regular condition, the strength of shippers' bargaining power and more severe competition among shipping companies.Then comes the economics analysis of international dry bulk alliance behavior, which constitutes the major project of the thesis. In this part, the thesis analyzes dry bulk shipping alliance from four aspects, which are scale economics, scope economics, speed economics and accrete economics. Through some industry organization theories, structure, conduct and performance (SCP) of dry bulk shipping market is analyzed. Meanwhile, basing on some models of economics and game theory, the thesis sets up Stackelberg model and gives quantity analysis of dry bulk shipping alliance. Through these analyses, the thesis well affirms the necessity of alliance, pointing out that the obvious cooperation of dry bulk shipping companies may set entry barriers, weaken competition press and improveefficiency. Then stabilization mechanism of shipping alliance is approached.Finally, the thesis brings about some thoughts on those topics concerning Chinese factor affection on the international dry bulk shipping market. By analyzing the position of Chinese vessel in the world, the thesis puts forward to some suggestions on the developing trend of Chinese bulk vessel. |
