In the 21st century, the modern service industry is developing rapidly andreplacing the content of the traditional service industry in the trade of economicglobalization and unification. As a new and urban smokeless industry, the exhibitionindustry becomes a booster of the modern service industry with its characteristics ofhigh efficiency and high economic returns. Western developed countries are thebirthplaces of modern exhibition industry, its total strength and scale is extremely bigand powerful. Since the 1990s of last century, following expanding of developing tothe outside and continual and steady economy development, the exhibition industry ofChina develops quickly and becomes a new point of growth of national economy,especially after china becoming one of the WTO members, the international tradegrows fast and so does the exhibition industry. But compared with developedcountries and regions of exhibition industry of the world, the exhibition of Chinaexists a great deal of insufficient. Strengthening the deep comparative advantageresearch to the exhibition industry and leading the exhibition industry of China todevelop healthily and positively is the urgent need of the exhibition industry of China.According to the development situation of the exhibition industry of China, thispaper first gives the development summaries of the exhibition industry, includingdefinition, features and the situation of other countries;then goes to investigate theinfluence of the WTO policy to exhibition industry of China, and the main conditionof the development of exhibition industry in China with statistics. Next according tothe basic comparative advantage theory of international trade, this paper stresses itsanalysis on the compare of exhibition industry development between China and theexhibition giant Germany, through four parts like outside condition, scale and speed,hardware aspect and software aspect. The conclusion is that China does have potentialcomparative advantages on exhibition industry. And at the last part of this paper, itgives out some advice on how to develop the potential comparative advantage ofexhibition industry in China.
