Technology Strategy With Corporate Strategy Matches The Impact Study Of The Factors

There is a growing recognition of the pivotal role of technology in achieving market success as the global competition increases, while technology itself doesn't guarantee a success in financial performance. The fitness between technology strategy and business strategy endures the successful deployment of a company's technological capability and technological resources, helps to build a sustainable competitive advantage and enhances the company's financial performance. This paper is to explore the factors which observably affect the fitness between technology strategy and corporate strategy from a broad range of perspectives.On the basis of the existing research, this paper explores the internal relationship between corporate environment, top management team, technological resources, internal cohesion and the fitness between technology strategy and corporate strategy. After an investigation into 121 Chinese technological firms through questionnaires and data analysis, a model is constructed, including all the impact factors and the degree and mechanism of impact via those factors.(1) Corporate environment is positive to the fitness between technology strategy and corporate strategy.(2) The top management team has a positive impact on the technology resources and internal cohesion, thus has an indirect impact on the fit between technology strategy and corporate strategy as well as a direct impact.(3) Technology resources of firms and their technological capabilities impact the fit between technology strategy and corporate strategy positively.(4) The internal cohesion of firms impacts the fitness between technology strategy and corporate strategy positively.Technology background, technology preference and the diversity of top management team are also proven to be the key factors.
