This article talks about the scale of motorway network. Because of the influence of subjective factors in estimating the scale of motorway network, the theoretical scale always not square with the reality, it must be revised. This article advocates that when we revise the theoretical scale of motorway network, we should pay attention to the influence of the economic feature and the transport demand in the area.First, because the development of economy has several stages, and every stage has their own characteristic, in different stage ,the areas differ greatly in industrial component, mode of production and main products, these difference will decide the scale and structure of transport demand, then that will decide the scale of motorway network. Then, because every area is different from the amount and type of transport demand for nature, economy and society. In order to make the scale of motorway network exactly, we must make a concrete analysis of the characteristic of every area, and know the scale and level of transport demand.Last, this article selects four representing provinces to analysis their economic feature and transport demand feature. And then, use these feature to evaluate the moderate degree of motorway network.
