China's state-owned foreign trade enterprises are typical result of planned economy, before 1988. they were basically complete monopolizer. Following China's opening to the outside world, establishment of socialist market mechanism and the continuously deepening reform of foreign trade system, the two most outstanding changes of foreign trade enterprises are enlargement of foreign trade management authority and breaking of monopoly gradually. State-owned foreign trade enterprises have to face with not only competition of domestic manufacturers, commercial enterprises and private enterprises but also powerful shock of multination corporations which have more strong capital, technique, scale, management, human resource. Inner Mongolia foreign trade group (1MFTG), which is the largest state-owned foreign trade enterprise in autonomous region, find out way like others unavoidably and discuss how to build its competition advantage in long term.Firstly, the paper analyze the present situation of china state-owned foreign trade enterprise briefly; then base on elaborating the relative background theories of group competition advantage according to enterprises real condition, the paper focus on the value chain and value system of enterprises, further analyze the core ability from three division which are decisive ability, marketing ability and creative ability, and put forward the way which build the enterprises lasting competition advantage, lastly it conludes the main viewpoint through looking back the whole text.This paper agrees that IMFTG should build its competition advantage from six aspects as following: firstly, broad the channel of collecting money and lowering capital cost; secondly, setting up scientific investment decision and management system; thirdly, strengthening risk management in sale price of import-export goods; fourthly, extending enterprises value chain; fifthly, building and completing stimulating management of human resource; sixthly, reforming the traditionai trade mode and. effecting enterprises information management...
