Research On Xue Muqiao 's Economic Thought And Practice

Xue Muqiao is a famous economist in China and he has made outstanding contributions for the Chinese revolution and construction. Xue Muqiao is the pioneer and founder of Chinese socialist political economy. He is honored as a pioneer of "market economy". He managed to compile the studies of Chinese economic problems and the studies of Chinese prices and currency. His many books play an important role in the Chinese economic development.This paper is divided into three sections.The first section is the main contribution of Xue Muqiao’s economic thoughts. It clarifies the Xue Muqiao’s thoughts to Chinese realities from the aspect of ideological and theoretical. It can be roughly divided into four aspects: first, the price and monetary theory. Second, the plan and market theory. Third,the economic system reform theory. Fourth, the theory of the labor employment.The second section is the practice exploration of Xue Muqiao’s economic thoughts. Xue Muqiao is also a practical economist. The formation of Xue Muqiao’s theory goes through the practice exploration. There are mainly four stages: first, the economic work before the founding of the liberated areas in Shandong. Second, the economic work in the early days after foundation. Third, the economic work of the great leap forward in three years and the adjustment period of the national economy. Fourth, the economic work before and after the reform and opening up.The third section is the contemporary value of Xue Muqiao’s economic thoughts and practice. Xue Muqiao’s economic thoughts and the practice research has given great enlightenment to the contemporary economy: we should make the study of practical problems in the economic construction as the starting point and we must accumulate experience from the real economy practice to form the correct economic theory. At the same time, we should make full use of the government, enterprise and individuals to solve the current problems existing in the socialist market economy under the guidance of this theory, promoting the continuous development of China’s economic construction.
