Research On China - South Asia Trade Cooperation Under The Background Of "One Way"

Since ancient times, China and South Asian countries has build the trade cooperation through the southern silk road.In the year of 2005,China became the observer of the South Asian association for regional cooperation, which makes the relationship between China and South Asia more and more close. At present, in addition to China and South Asian countries signed a series of economic and trade cooperation agreement in South Asia area, China-pakistan economic corridor and BCIM economic corridor is under construction,which will promote the regional cooperation between China and South Asia. In addition, as the "One Belt and One Road" strategy is put forward, which will also provide higher levels of trade cooperation between China and South Asia.So in this article of China and South Asia trade cooperation research has important and practical significance.In this paper, based on the theory of international regional economic cooperation and the international trade theory,I will analyse the development of trade cooperation and trade cooperation mechanism between China and South Asia.Then, I wil use the method of standard international trade classification(SITC) to analyse the import and export commodity structure between China and South Asia.At the same time,i will use RCA index,TCI index and export similarity index to analyse the trade cooperation complementary and competitive between China and South Asia. Finally, in order to analyse the influence factors that will affect the trade between China and South Asia,I will choose panel data econometric analysis method and build the trade gravity model to do analysis, at the same time, calculates the potential business between China and South Asia with the help of gravity model.Through the above research method,there are some conclusions about the trade cooperation between China and South Asia.Firstly,the growth rate of trade between China and South Asia has rapidly developed, but the trade scale is still small, and the total trade proportion betweenChina and South Asia accounted for the total amount of China foreign trade and thetotal amount of South Asia foreign trade is not high.Howere,With the population of 3billions and the geographically adjacent, which will promote the trade between China and South Asia have development potentialSecond, on the trade structure in China and south Asian goods, China exports to South Asia is capital-intensive products and imports of primary products and labor-intensive products from South Asia.Besides, the characteristics of commodity structure can be used to explain the reason of the trade imbalance in the trade of China and South Asia.Third,the analysis results of RCA index, TCI index and export similarity index show that the trade competitive and complementary coexistence between China and South Asia, but it is given priority to with complementary.Fourth,the trade gravity model between China and South Asia shows that there is big potential trade between China and South Asia.
