A Study On The Relationship Among Personal Characteristics, Psychological Characteristics And Entrepreneurial Performance Of Venture Entrepreneurs

The booming entrepreneurial economy is promoting a rapid advancing of society. The research on entrepreneurial theory has got more attention. In this paper titled by "Study on the relationship between entrepreneurs’demographic characteristics, psychological quality and entrepreneurial performance", I focus on the correlation between them.It is of great reference value and directive significance through the study on the relationship between the three when venture investors evaluate entrepreneurs’ability or even select partners.This paper starts with the definition of entrepreneur, demographic characteristics, psychological quality and entrepreneurial performance, and proposes an assumption on the relationship between them on the basis of previous theoretical research, and also determine the research tool. Secondly the paper introduces the questionnaire design, the definition of variables, and the analysis about validity and reliability of the questionnaire in order to determine whether the variable selection is scientific for empirical analysis. A group of representative entrepreneurs in Jingjiang of Jiangsu Province is selected to carry on the questionnaire survey to obtain samples.The validity and reliability of the questionnaire are analyzed using statistical analysis, correlation analysis, T-test and ANOVA based on SPSS19.0 in this paper. On the premise of summarize of entrepreneurs’ demographic characteristics and psychological quality, a model is set up for evaluating entrepreneurial performance.Through the analysis of entrepreneurs’demographic characteristics, it showed that a majority of entrepreneurs are male, O blood, aged between 31-40 at present and 21-30 when they start up, educated as specialists or undergraduate, coming from ordinary families, in the mechanical and electrical machinery, and having related working experience.In the study of the relationship between demographic characteristics and psychological quality, it has been discovered that start-up age has a significant negative correlation with achievement motivation, tendency of internal and external control and confidence, as well as family background with achievement motivation and confidence, entrepreneurial experience with tolerance for uncertainty.There is significant positive correlation between family background and tolerance for uncertainty, also between entrepreneurial experience and achievement motivation, tendency of internal and external control and confidence.Between psychological quality and entrepreneurial performance, the other four factors have a significant impact on entrepreneurial performance except for risk appetite. And between demographic characteristics and entrepreneurial performance, start-up age and family background has significant negative correlation with entrepreneurial performance, whereas entrepreneurial experience on the contrary. Other factors have nothing to do with it such as blood type, gender or education level.
