Three National Economic Adjustment And Urban Labor Force Employment From 1949 To 1984

If the development of national economy is not good, it will affect all walks of life, such as people’s livelihood and people’s living standard. During 1949-1984,our country experienced three times of large-scale economic adjustments.On the eve of liberation, industrial and agricultural production has the great destruction, agricultural output has fallen sharply. China’s economy is in a state of collapse because of transportation damage, rising prices and people’s unemployment problems.Unemployment has a huge increase in population. For this kind of situation, in 1949-1952, the people’s government adopted a series of measures, industrial and agricultural production, transportation and so on, adjustment of the national economy and recovery,life level of people has improved and enhanced. Employment is also growing. Urban labor employment problems also eased.During 1958-1960, our country has carried out the "great leap" movement of the national economy, it has brought serious consequences, "the great leap" movement make fanfares deluge. A serious imbalance appeared between national economic sectors. Serious loss and poor economic benefit make People’s living standards decline. "Great leap" in the whole country is in trouble. In view of this, the party and the state implemented the policy of "adjustment, consolidate, enrich and improve." and it has obtained the remarkable result.In the late 70’s and early 80’s, due to the cultural revolution, China’s economy collapsed again, industry and commerce has the standstill, the factory stop to recruit students, they cannot allocate work, leading to urban employment and the related problems rise sharply. According to the dilemma of the national economy, the central proposed new "policy of eight", namely "adjustment, reform, reorganization, improve," new eight policy implementation has obtained certain achievement. The adjustment of the national economy and the urban labor employment in our country are of great positive influence.This article is to analyze background, adjustment process, adjustment results as well as the national economy’s influence on the urban labor employ of national economy adjustment. The adjustment of the national economy under the employment problem of the literature is limited. So this paper analysis the impact of the adjustment of the national economy and employment.
