Black fungus, known as the black treasure and meat diets in vegetarians, is a famous delicacies from the mountains. It is rich in nutrition and taste. There are many healthy effects such as strong moisture, invigorating the circulation of blood and runchang detoxifying. It is also the medical fungus that can be eaten, made into medicine and supplements. It is widely recognized and respected by the domestic and foreign enterprises and also brings higher economic benefits for China’s export.Located in the southeast of HeiLongjiang province, Mudanjiang city is fit for planting black fungus because it has an excellent ecological environment, adequate sunlights and large temperature difference between day and night. During recent years, black fungus industry has developed quickly in MuDanjiang city. It is awarded the "China Mushroom City" and "The World City of Black Fungus" by the Chinese Edible Fungus Association and the International Society of Edible Fungus. HaiLin and DongNing black fungus which is under the jurisdiction of the city, have received the National Geographic logo certification and made outstanding contributions for the agricultural rapid development and sustained peasant income. However, there are a lot of difficulties in industry development which is greatly restricted the sustainable development of black fungus. Therefore, strategic researches on the sustainable development of black fungus industry in Mudanjiang city have the significance in theoretical and practical because it can exert the industrial advantage, improve market competitiveness and promote health and sustainable black fungus development.This paper carries out the investigation and study on the status and trends of black fungus industry among the domestic and foreign countries, the strengths of black fungus development, production, processing, consuming and industrial recycling in MuDanjiang city. It points out the restrictive factors which affect the sustainable development of black fungus industry in Mudanjiang city, for example, the low level of the quality and safety, the insufficient ability of science and technology innovation, the low level of industrialization management, the weak management in edible fungi, the contradictions between the fungi and forest etc. Aiming at these problems, we put forward some suggestions on integration of industry advantages, promoting the development of industrial clusters, cultivating the market main body and constructing the functional management system. It also carries out developing strategies, such as implementing the "science and technology develop the black fungus" strategy, improving the contribution rate of science and technology, strengthening the fungi standard management, implementing the standardized production, speeding up the ecological construction, achieving the industry cycle of sustainable development, strengthening the professional fair and creating the Mudanjiang feature brand. Finally, the author makes a conclusion that promoting the sustainable development of black fungus industry in Mudanjiang area is to make good use of the ecological advantages which is unique to MuDanjiang city, the resources advantages and the area advantages. The best method is to increase the reputation and influence of "the world city of black fungus", "China mushroom city" and implement the sustainable development of black fungus industry strategies in order to accelerate the scale, standard, quality, industrialization and ecological process and further promote the black fungus industry transformation and upgrading and realize striding from the big black fungus city to a strong one. It also puts forward some suggestions on promoting the sustainable development of black fungus industry in Mudanjiang area, enhancing the black fungus industry competitiveness and providing the scientific reference for the government and relevant departments.
