Internet Controller Design

Our country started a project of some proprietary internet to construct a multi-dimension information platform to assist the associated performed. This proprietary internet mainly consists of two parts: a backbone network and a mobile network. A device named"internet controller"is used in this system as a key intercommunication device. It not only can be used for the backbone network and the mobile network, but also can be used to construct independent networks for the mobile network. The internet controller can provide intercommunication functions to various communication networks or devices and can integrate them into an organized entity. These networks and devices include the backbone network, the mobile network and user terminals etc. The internet controller not only implements the intercommunication between networks within the proprietary internet, but also implements the intercommunication between the proprietary internet and other external networks. So it is a core intercommunication device which can integrate various networks together.This thesis starts with needs analysis through internet controller, and compares the current technology situation of China with that of other countries, then analyzes some major technology systems adopted by the proprietary internet, and at last leads out the overall design of internet controller. The thesis introduces in detail the technologies adopted by internet controller, including switch, voice coding/decoding and clock synchronization etc, then introduces the device composition and configuration, then describes the overall design of hardware and introduces the overall design of software. Subsequently, the thesis shows the detailed description for various hardware cards and presents the block diagrams of the cards. Also, the thesis gives an analysis on device function and performance through various test results such as complete-machine integration, in-house interconnection, system test and intercommunication test between devices of different manufactures. At last, according to the analysis results, the thesis finds out the insufficiencies of the devices and presents an expectation for the follow-up work.
