As an information transmission media,sound link our lives tightly,and as a voice transmission, nowadays the audio power amplifier has been the essential important module to TV sets,car audio systems,mobile phones,laptops and so on. As people's pursuit of audio products,the performance of Audio power amplifier has also been enhanced, People enjoy life, simultaneously,demand for portable audio products are also getting higher and higher, hope that it has the advantages of small size, sound quality is good, high output power and so on.Therefore,to design a high-performance audio power amplifier have great practical significance.This paper presents the design ideas of a high-performance Class AB audio power amplifier chip.First,on the basis of to fully read the extensive literature, I describe several common types of audio power amplifier, analyze their principle of work,circuit structures and the design of the key point and difficulties.Second, According to the design targets to be met to use the audio power amplifier circuit structure and make theoretical analysis.Show the design of each functional module.Including the built-in power supply and band-gap reference source, volume control, thermal protection, current limit, output stage topology, etc. And give the circuit and simulation results. Finally, each module layout design considerations made a brief introduction, given the overall layout of the entire circuit.In this paper, we used Lite-On 2um 20V Double ISO Bipolar process to tape out. In the Cadence Spectre environment to complete each module of the circuit design, run simulation, Chip test results show that the parameters are to meet the design requirements.
