LTE (Long Term Evolution) is proposed by 3GPP which have produced technical specification and technical reports for 3G mobile system, for meeting the increasing demand of high data rate for multimedia services. Because of Noises and disturbance are involved by channel in wireless communication systems, channel coding should be introduced into system for reliable communication. Higher throughput and reliability are required in LTE system, which mostly depends on channel coding performance. Therefore, to realize entire LTE system, channel coding is very important.This paper analyze and study the channel coding of LTE system systematically. give the in-depth analysis of Turbo codes and LDPC codes then compare their performance under different rate and length. At last, give the implementation of LTE channel coding.Firstly, this article introduced the third genneration mobile communication and the main features of LTE systems briefly and give the significance of the channel coding. Then introduced the basic knowledge and the status in quo of channel coding. At last, we mainly focus on the state of Turbo codes and LDPC codes.Secodely, the encoding and decoding principles of Turbo codes and LDPC codes are disscussed, and then focused on the decoding algorithm of Turbo codes and LDPC coedes and give the advantage and disadvantage of each algorithm. The throughput and complexity of Turbo codes and LDPC codes are given, and give the comparison of them. The performance of Turbo codes and LDPC codes in different bit rate and code length are compared by simulation. After that, the channel coding scheme of LTE system is given, the simulation of channel coding scheme in LTE link is completed.Finally, the hardware implementation process of LTE channel coding scheme is given, then complete the verification and testing on multi-core DSP MSC8156. The results and resources occupancy rate are disscussed at last. The results shows the feasibility of the scheme.
