In recent years, both for civil and military fields, the underwater acoustic communication is becoming a hot topic in communication study at home and abroad, and attracting increasingly the attention. The establishment of underwater acoustic communication system will be helpful in communication between two submarines as well as a surface ship and a submarine. And it also can be used in nautical telecontrol and telemetering, remote sensing, the backsending of logging data from underwater measuring equipment, underwater image transmission, underwater voice transmission and so on.As there are many people working on the underwater communication, a unified platform will be helpful to analyze and compare the different algorithms, process the simulating data and experimental data, also to promote the theoretical and experimental researches. Based on the above, this paper will design and develop a modularized and integrated software of underwater acoustic communication based on the Visual C++.NET platform. The software will improve the research efficiency and reduce the repetitive work. This part of work:1. User analysis. Functional and Performance requirements.2. Overall design. The software is composed of such function modules as underwater acoustic communication simulation, experimental data processing and underwater acoustic Channel modeling.3. Detailed design. The detailed analysis of the requirements for the overall design of concrete modules provides detailed implementation steps and methods.4. Software realization. Design and develop a modularized and integrated software of underwater acoustic communication based on the Visual C++.NET platform, The underwater acoustic communication simulation module, through the parameter generated signals, and through source coding, modulation and other processes to generate the transmitted signal, and get the receiving signal through channel model. Then through Frame synchronization, channel equalization, and demodulation, gets the transmit signal in the last; experimental data processing module, by reading the experimental data and parameter settings, then through the synchronization, channel equalization, demodulation, and restore the send information in the last; underwater acoustic channel modeling, Through parameter settings and options to produce the appropriate channel model. And by processing the experimental data of the CAS Institute of Acoustics to testing the software functionality.Besides the development of underwater communication software, this paper also studies the synchronization technology which taking linear frequency modulation signal (LFM) as the frame synchronization signal, This part of work:1. Analyzing the synchronization theory of underwater acoustic communication.2. Based on the theoretical analysis of synchronization the frame synchronization and the characteristic of LFM signal of underwater communication, simulation of the LFM signal as a synchronization signal frame synchronization performance. Verify the theoretical analysis of synchronization.3. By processing the experimental data of the CAS Institute of Acoustics to testing the characteristic of LFM signal of underwater communication.
