With the rapid development of mobile communication networks, especially the current introduction of GPRS and 3G technologies, mobile accessing Internet has become a trend and fashion. Mobile phone has become an important tool to obtain information. However, when we need use the mobile phone to query something such as telephone numbers, zip code, and municipal information,usually through someone to answer the call, then the query cost is very expensive. If we can run Java programs on mobile phones, through the GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) accessing the Internet to query the necessary information, we can let users achieve their goals at lower cost and even obtain stronger function. Thus, with the popularity of mobile phones, especially among the students and teachers, it has wonderful prospects to use mobile phone to query information.After studying a large number of application program implementation of mobile terminal and server-side technology, this thesis designs and implements a mobile terminal application and Web server communication system, and in-depth discussion secure communications mechanism based on the J2ME and J2EE. This thesis still focuses on analyzing the mobile terminal application systems architecture, server-side technology and optimized design of architecture.Based on the above studies, this thesis mainly carried out the following four aspects work. Firstly, we construct the architecture design scheme base on J2ME/J2EE, adopting four layers framework, namely client, Web, business and database using the MVC model to design. Secondly, we analyze the factors affecting the performance of design. As the limitations of handheld devices, the client makes a simple, efficient and safe as the design principles, focusing on data processing, network security, communications, optimized design. We analyze the factors affecting its performance for server and adopt J2EE to design security architecture. Then, we implement and verify the system based on the analysis results. Last, we conduct the test on the system, by comparing the analysis results to prove the feasibility of optimal design strategy.
