This article aims to technologically upgrade the vice standard of Vickers Hardness of NIMTT on the optical measurement device. In order to objectively measure the standard Vickers Hardness blocks, this article introduces a technology upgrading plan based on CCD Image Processing. The upgrading plan reasonably selects the light source, CCD camera device and image capture card for optical measurement device, and meanwhile adopts self-adaptive threshold algorithm to calculate optimal threshold value for the captured images of the Vickers hardness indentation. By linear fitting the indentation edge-based based on the Method of Least Squares, the upgrade plan calculates the diagonal length of the indentation and finally figures out the Vickers hardness value.Experiments have demonstrated that the device is stable, reliable and the experimental data is satisfactory. The device can successfully restore the original indicators of the national vice standard of Vickers hardness, and greatly improve work efficiency.
