With the rapid development of the Internet technology, it was filled with a large number of distribution, autonomy, heterogeneous data sources, and it blocked the information exchange between the enterprises of the the international trade field. At present, many organizations and institutions are trying to form a series of XML-based e-business standards, and on this basis, many integrated e-business platform are build to achieve the inter-enterprise efficient, interoperable information exchange and processing. However, due to the differences between the standards and the platform architectures, the data based on different standards and platforms are still very hard to exchange. So, how to achieve a variety of cross-standard, cross-platform interoperability of the heterogeneous data became the urgent problems.In order to solve these problems, by researching the key issues of the heterogeneous data interoperability, a XML-based heterogeneous data sources connection engine system has been build to solve the information silos problem, which is caused by the cross-standard, cross-platform heterogeneous data sources, and it effectively promoted the information exchange between enterprises.Through the researches of the heterogeneous data adapters, and based on the theory of the traditional data integration, a SOA-based heterogeneous data sources connection engine system architecture has been build, and focused on the research of the XQuery optimization and conversion, the data source connection, the result reconstruct technique and other key technologies. Among them, based on the XQuery query conversion algorithm, we proposed a conversion algorithm for XQuery update.Then, with the example of ebXML, studied the connection technology of the e-business standard-based data source, and achieved the e-business standards-based data interoperability.At last, a template-based results reconstruction technique has been studied to achieve the query results transforming from the partial model to the global paradigm. Indeed, the followings have been done in this dissertation:(1) Researching the SOA-based heterogeneous data sources connection engine system architecture, and ensuring the system's high scalability and stability.(2) Proposing optimization strategy for the XPath expressions and FLWOR expressions of the XQuery statement,and improving the system efficiency.(3) Focusing on the AST-based XQuery conversion algorithm, and expanding it with the syntax of XQuery Update Facility, as well as a conversion algorithm for the XQuery Update, and the query and update conversions of XQuery to SQL.(4) Researching the connection method with main data sources, especially on the e-business standards-based data sources, and achieving the support of the e-business standards with the example of ebXML.(5) Proposing a template-based results reconstruction technique, and achieving database query results to XML conversion.(6)Verifing the effectiveness of the connection engine system through the functionality and performance testing.
